FoMoCo invites Lincoln dealers to Dearborn to discuss future

Earlier this week it was reported that FoMoCo is looking to differentiate its luxury Lincoln brand from the Ford brand after allocating extra resources following the death of Mercury. The Dearborn automaker has now invited Lincoln dealers to a meeting in October to discuss future plans for the brand that is lagging behind its rivals.

The meeting, which is scheduled for October 4th, will mark the first gathering of Lincoln dealers since Ford, Lincoln and Mercury dealers all met in April 2008.

“It will be a Lincoln update … giving dealers a look at how Ford will now work with Lincoln as an exclusive, luxury brand,” Ford spokesman Christian Bokich said.

Lincoln has plans to introduce seven new or improved models within the next couple of years.
