Tim Allen, the actor best-known for his roles as Santa Claus and Tim “˜The Toolman” Taylor, is going to be lending his voice to Chevrolet.  Allen will be voicing the new TV ad campaign for the all-new 2011 Chevy Cruz.  The campaign is set to launch tomorrow.

“Tim Allen brings the right combination of a recognizable voice with the credibility, likeability and humor that will connect with viewers,” said Joel Ewanick, vice president, U.S. marketing, General Motors.  “His passion for all things cars makes him the perfect match for the Chevrolet brand.”

Allen, a Detroit native, is known as a “˜car guy” from his role on Home Improvement, his ties to NASCAR, and his extensive personal collection, and Chevrolet hopes to expand upon and capitalize on this image.

The Cruz campaign will utilize news and media accolades and comparisons, followed by an intensive social media component.  The ads will begin tomorrow and vamp up later this fall as cars arrive in dealer showrooms in mass numbers.
