GM’s OnStar launches hands-free awareness campaign

OnStar has announced the launch of a Bluetooth/Hands-Free calling awareness campaign in order to help simplify the [airing of cell-phones to onboard Bluetooth systems.  An analysis of random, anonymous data shows that only 45% of GM owners are pairing their devices with their systems.

“What we”re learning is that many customers simply do not understand the technology, or they”re confused by how to pair their cell phone to a Bluetooth device,” said OnStar President Chris Preuss. “It”s about both educating the customer and alleviating technical challenges.”

GM is undertaking the campaign to promote the safety that comes with use of the technology, due to the extreme under utilization, despite the ease of use.
