Ford resumes shipment of Fiesta to U.S. dealers after fixing faulty part

FoMoCo said that it temporarily stopped shipments of the Fiesta subcompact from its Mexico factory to address an issue of a faulty part. Shipments of the 2011 Fiesta were halted due to a quality issue with a single part that Ford has identified and fixed, Ford President of the Americas Mark Fields said today.
Ford has resumed shipments of the Fiesta to U.S. dealers and does not believe that any vehicles with the faulty part have been sold to customers, Fields said.
“In our normal approach, which is to make sure that we have really robust processes and normal quality operating procedure at the plant, we did find a part quality issue,” Fields said. “We’ve addressed it.”
