Callway Cars working on performance upgrade for Chevrolet Silverado
Callaway Cars is one tuner that has delivered some powerful modifications for Chevrolet Corvettes and Camaros over the years. The tuner is now in the process of adding a Chevrolet pickup truck to its lineup.
“We”re working on a truck,” said Mike Vendetto, commercial manager for Callaway. “It”s a Chevrolet Silverado with a 6.2-liter, but we”re looking at smaller-displacement versions too.”
The Callaway Silverado is still in the development stages and the tuner’s engineering team is gathering data about the Silverado 1500 before it decides what it will do. As PickupTrucks.com points out, the half-ton Silverado’s 6.2L L92 Vortec V8 makes 403-hp and 417 lb-ft of torque – so don’t be surprised if you see something upwards of 500-hp. Callaway will also end up making some significant upgrades to the suspension, driveline and visual modifications as well.
