Hyundai Veloster Concept

According to reports coming out of UK, Hyundai plans to debut a production version of the Veloster Coupe Concept at the 2010 LA Auto Show. A coupe(ish) and hatchback variant will be offered.

The model will be seen as Hyundai’s answer to the Volkswagen Scirocco and the Golf (in the United States. Sources say that the model is being pitched as a vehicle that will “be bought for its looks, having been built with the Scirocco firmly in its sights.” The Korean automaker promises “dramatic styling “ā€ even more so than the concept.” Now that sounds exciting.

Power is expected to come from a 1.4L turbo engine making 168-hp with stop/start and direct injection technology. A high-performance 200-hp 1.6L turbo version is also expected to debut after the launch.
