The Cadillac CTS-V Coupe is ready to hit showrooms next month to take on two of its closes German rivals and one domestic rival. The folks at Motor Trend and Road&Track decided to run a test between all of the sports coupes for what turns out to be a very interesting rivalry. Among the CTS-V Coupe competitors in the test include the Audi RS5, BMW M3 and the Ford Shelby GT500.

Cadillac CTS-V Coupe: Power comes from the same supercharged 6.2L V8 that sits in the CTS-V sedan – putting out 556-hp and a peak torque of 551 lb-ft. Mated to either a Tremec TR6060 6-speed manual with a dual-disc clutch or a Hydra-Matic 6L90 6-speed automatic with paddle-shift control, the CTS-V Coupe can sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds. Braking power comes from Brembo brakes, 6-piston calipers in the front and 4-piston calipers in the rear.
Audi RS5: Power comes from a 4.2L naturally aspirated V8 making 450-hp and a maximum torque of 317 lb-ft. Mated to a standard 7-speed S tronic, the 2011 RS5 goes from 0-62 mph in 4.6 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph (electronically governed).
BMW M3: Power comes from a 4.0L V8 making 414-hp with a maximum torque of 295 lb-ft. 0 to 60 mph comes in at 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 155 mph.
Ford Shelby GT500: Power comes from a5.4L supercharged V8 making 550-hp (an increase of 10-hp) with a peak torque of 510 lb-ft. The new powertrain weighs 102 pounds lighter, resulting in a better power-to-weight ratio, improved fuel-economy, acceleration, handling and steering precision. Buyers can also opt for the SVT Performance Package to further enhance performance.
