Buick strongly considering coupe, hard-top convertible and station wagon

During a live webchat with Buick Product Marketing Director Roger McCormack, those who attended learned that Buick is planning on expanding its product lineup in a big way.

While chatting about the 2011 Buick Regal, McCormack said that that a coupe model was under “very strong consideration.” When asked if Buick was considering a convertible model for its lineup McCormack said: “We are always looking for ways to excite our customers…I think a convertible would do just that. Nothing to announce today but know we will look hard at a convertible option.”

McCormack also briefly hinted at a station wagon model, which could be based on the Buick Regal.

Whatever the case may be, we know for sure that Buick will offer a Regal GS and a new compact crossover in the near future. The production Regal GS is expected to stay close to the concept version shown at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show, including the 255-hp 4-cylinder turbo, 6-speed manual gearbox and all-wheel drive.
