FoMoCo’s Mulally makes some top management changes

FoMoCo’s CEO Alan Mulally, who has avoided making management changes ever since taking leadership at the Dearborn automaker in 2006, announced yesterday that he will be changing the roles of a few members of his management team.

The most important change makes Jim Farley, currently Ford group vice president of global marketing, the head of global marketing, sales and service. Farley, 48, whose grandfather worked for Ford in the early days of the automaker’s history, joined Ford in November 2007 from Toyota.
“These moves allow us to strengthen our global team as we accelerate our One Ford plan and continue to profitably grow serving our customers around the world,” said Ford President and CEO Alan Mulally.

Stephen Odell, currently vice president and CEO of Volvo Cars, will become the CEO of Ford of Europe after the automaker completes its sale of Volvo to Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Ltd. for $1.8 billion.

John Fleming will now lead the global manufacturing and labor affairs role. he current servers as chairman and CEO of Ford of Europe and head of global manufacturing and labor affairs.
