We’ve been hearing a lot about the 2011 Ford Edge – mainly because it’s one of the most important launches for FoMoCo this year besides the 2011 Fiesta, 2011 Explorer and the 2011 Mustang. The 2011 Ford Edge lineup  will be built at the company’s Oakville Assembly Complex in Ontario, Canada and will hit dealers later this year with prices starting at $27,220.

Here is the complete breakdown of the prices for the 2011 Ford Edge:

  • 2011 Ford Edge SE: $27,220 FWD only – base model with AdvanceTrac, MyKey.
  • 2011 Ford Edge SEL: $30,220 for FWD and $32,070 for AWD – adds dual-zone climate control, 6-speed SelectShift Automatic.
  • 2011 Ford Edge Limited: $34,220 for FWD and $36,070 for AWD – adds MyFord Touch, Sony Audio System with HD radio.
  • 2011 Ford Edge Sport: $36,220 for FWD and $38,070 for AWD – adds 3.7 TiVCT V6, 6-speed SelectShift Automatic with paddle shifters.

The 2011 Ford Edge SE, SEL and Limited are powered by a 3.5L V6 engine that makes 285-hp, the best-in-class among V6 rivals and 20 more than the outgoing model. It gets an EPA-estimated at 19/27 mpg (city/higwahy). The 2011 Ford Edge Sport is powered by the same 3.7L Ti-VCT that moves the base 2011 Mustang, producing 305-hp (40-hp more than the outgoing model) and 280 lb-ft of torque. EPA-rated fuel-economy comes in at 18/25 mpg for the front-wheel-drive model.

Don’t forget, the 2011 Edge will also be FoMoCo’s first vehicle in North America to get the 2.0L EcoBoost I-4 powertrain, which will deliver best-in-class fuel-economy, power and torque figures that have yet to be released. Prices and availability details will be announced closer to launch.
