Toyota CEO supports the development of next-generation Supra
Toyota’s CEO Akio Toyoda is well known for being a sports car enthusiast. He’s spent a lot of time driving the previous generation Toyota Supra at the Nurburgring and it’s no wonder that Toyoda is now very keen on developing a next-generation Supra.
In a recent meeting with the press in Japan, Toyoda said he “wants to see the next Supra tested in the near future” but said that “even if one president says that we want to have a Supra again, the whole company is not going to be responding to that request.”
Toyoda said he “would like to create a car that is better than the Supra” and he was “not against the idea” of pushing through development of the car.
We recently heard that a next-generation Supra is in the works and is likely to carry a V6 hybrid powertrain.
