Lotus is undergoing some radical changes in its overall philosophy. According to reports coming out of Europe, Lotus is set to debut a range of new models at the 2010 Paris Motor Show in October.

Last month, Lotus sent out an email to the press stating that it will show a “dawn of a new era” at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. Reports suggest that Lotus is preparing a significant shake-up of its roots in hopes to push upmarket to take on the likes of Aston Martin, Ferrari and Porsche.

Joining the new Elise at the 2010 Paris Motor Show will be a range of new concepts including two new front-engined GT cars and a new roadsters.

Lotus has also served all its European dealers with a notice stating that all of their contracts to sell Lotus vehicles will come to an end in July 2012. The move is seen as a part of the company’s complete overhaul of its dealer network in preparations to move more upmarket.

Excited for October? Yes, we can’t sit still either.
