Rumor: Pagani working on cheaper, smaller V8 model

Pagani Zonda Tricolore

The million dollar Pagani Zonda is an outstanding vehicle, but what if you don’t want to spend over a million dollars for a car but still want a Pagani? You wait. According to company founder Horacio Pagani, the Italian automaker is looking at doing a V8-engined car that could enter development sometime in 2015.

The car will be lightweight supercar but most importantly, it will cost half as much as the Zonda. Pagani says the car would be based on the C9, which will launch later this year.

If built, Pagani plans on producing around 500 units annually. To put that into perspective, the Zonda sees a limited production of 40 units per year.
