Whenever the folks at J.D. Power an Associates release their annual quality study, we figure we’ll see vehicles by Porsche, Mercedes and Lexus on the top. But an American-built pickup? The thought doesn’t even cross our minds.
According to J.D. Power and Associates, pickups are now among the highest-quality vehicles on the road. Some even get better marks than many mass market vehicles, including some luxury models.
In the J.D. Power and Associates 2010 U.S. Initial Quality Study released last month, pickups widened their lead over light vehicles for the 2010 model year. Leading the pickup segment were GM’s Chevrolet Avalanche and GMC Sierra, tied for the fewest problems per vehicle (a total of 81).
FoMoCo’s F-150 came in second at 85.
