BMW Megacity (Teaser)

BMW today released the first official teaser of the upcoming Megacity, the company’s first series-production electric-drive model that will hit market in 2013. BMW says that the zero-emission Megacity will be made for the world’s metropolitan areas and will be available under a sub-brand of BMW.

During the development process, a great deal of attention will be made to keeping the weight as low as possible. BMW will use ultra-light, high-strength composite CFRP (carbon fiber-reinforced plastic) in the materials mix.

As for as technical details go, rumor has it that the 5-seater will get around 160 miles on a single charge.
