Ex Mazda employee goes on driving rampage at plant, kills one

A former disgruntled Mazda employee driving a Familia station wagon smashed into Mazda workers during a shift change at one of the company’s plants in Japan. The former employee ended up killing and injuring 10.

The driver, known as Toshiaki Hikiji, was arrested less than an hour later suspected of murder and other charges, Hiroshima police spokeswoman Takae Shiozaki said.

Reports from Japanese media stat that Hikiji, a 42-year-old worker, told police he had been fired two months ago and wanted to cause harm to Mazda. Mazda, on the other hand, says that Hikiji started on April 1 and resigned eight days later for personal reasons.
