Jeep to represent Chrysler Group in Europe as Lancias get rebadged as Chryslers

Chrysler Group will be represented primarily in Europe by its Jeep brand, as Fiat S.p.A. moves to emphasize its Lancia nameplate with the rebadging of all Chrysler vehicles as Lancias. This sharing of vehicles across brands is part of a plan outlined by CEO Sergio Marchionne this past November.

“The brand is global, it’s very well known everywhere around the world,” Chrysler”s international chief Michael Manley said. “With our partnership with Fiat we can now focus on Jeep as an international brand.” Another part of Marchionne”s plan involves the sharing of engines and other parts between Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, and Alfa Romeo which will reportedly save close to $3 billion over five years.

Fiat has a plan to boost delivery numbers by expanding in Europe and emerging markets, and by re-entering the North American markets and relaunching the Alfa-Romeo and Lancia brands.
