People can’t enough of the 2011 Audi A1 hatch and A8 sedan, leading the brand to increase production of the two models, says Chief Finance Officer Axel Strotbek.

To increase production, Audi will add a Saturday shift at its plant in Neckarsulm, Germany. The move is being made to meet demand for the 2011 A8 and as sales of the new A1 exceed an annual target of 100,000 units.

That’s good new for Audi as it tries to meet its goal of knocking BMW off the No. 1 spot as the world’s largest luxury automaker by 2015.
