2011 Ford Mustang GT

Keeping track of the sales war between the Chevrolet Camaro and the Ford Mustang is becoming a month-to-month habit of many publications… and we’re one of them.

In April, GM sold a total of 9,150 Camaros, while FoMoCo sold a total of 5,145 Mustang. That gave the Chevrolet Camaro the lead for 2010 with a total 29,907 sold through April, with the Mustang lagging behind with 20,836.

Well, May figures are now in and the Ford Mustang has taken the lead for the month with a total 10,225 sold versus 8,931 Camaros.

We’ll see how it plays out for the rest of the year.

As stated before it's not surprising to see the Camaro take the crown for the first time….it was dead and GM resurrected the pony which caused a lot of excitement. At this point though…I doubt it'll beat the Mustang anymore…specially with the new 5.0.
