2010 BMW ActiveHybrid 7

BMW announced today that the Internal Revenue Service has certified the BMW ActiveHybrid 7 for up to a $900 tax credit under the Alternative Motor Vehicle provision.

“The standard and long-wheelbase versions of the ActiveHybrid 7 become the fourth and fifth BMW models to qualify for the Alternative Motor Vehicle Tax Credit, joining the ActiveHybrid X6 and BMW”s Advanced Diesel 335d Sedan and X5 xDrive35d,” BMW said in a statement.

Prices for the 2010 BMW ActiveHybrid 7 start at $103,125 (including destination and handling).

Refresher: The BMW ActiveHybrid 7 is powered by a 4.4L V8 engine that produces 440-hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. That is mated to 3-phase synchronous electric motor that helps produce a total of 455-hp / 516 lb-ft. Mated to an 8-speed automatic, 0-60 mph comes in 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 150 mph. The BMW ActiveHybrid 7 has an EPA fuel-economy rating of 17/26 mph (city/highway).
