Things have been going pretty well for Jaguar since it was sold by FoMoCo to Indian automaker Tata Motors. Well, the new bosses at Tata are ready to shake up Jaguar’s product offerings and here is an insight into what’s to come from the panther.
First off, the new leaders of Jaguar have given the F Type the thumbs up for production. The model, which will take on the likes of the Porsche Boxster and the BMW Z4, should debut within the next couple of years.
“We have a new momentum. There is so much potential,” said Jaguar Land Rover chairman Ralf Speth. “A new sports car is coming.”
As for the successful XF sedan, the model is reported to get a station wagon and coupe variant. “The sales success of the XF shows that we can compete, but it”s only one model ““ we need more vehicles in that family,” Speth said.
As for the X-Type – the model will be reborn as a compact sedan that will compete with the likes of the BMW 3-Series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class and the Audi A4. Of course, we’ll be looking forward to some X-Type R high-performance models as well.
