Ferrari 599XX laps Nurburgring in 6:58.16

The Ferrari 599XX, which provides the basis for the new Ferrari 599 GTO, became the first ever production-derived sports car to break the 7-minute barrier on the Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit, lapping the famous track in 6:58.16.

Refresher: Power for the Ferrari 599XX comes from a 6.0L V12 engine making 700-hp with a maximum torque of 479 lb-ft. Ferrari also added a new F1 inspired gearbox that transfers power to the wheels
with gear change time cut down to 60 ms.

    impressive buuut….its a “production derived” car. C/D mentioned that the windows aren't glass and it has a non-stock $1.5 million down force system in it that's not even road legal. i'd really like to see what the stock version can do.
