Ford to unveil Lincoln MKZ Hybrid at the 2010 New York Auto Show

Sources familiar with FoMoCo’s plans say that the Dearborn automaker will unveil a hybrid version of the Lincoln MKZ at the 2010 New York Auto Show next week. The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid will be the first luxury hybrid offered by Ford.

The model will be based on the Ford Fusion Hybrid and Mercury Milan Hybrid and will be built of the same platform.

“I thought they should have done it before,” said Chris Lemley, who owns several dealerships in the Boston metropolitan area. “I’m glad they’re doing it now.”

Lemley says that Ford may be able to take advantage of Toyota’s recent recalls of products from its luxury Lexus brand.
