FoMoCo plans on unveiling a new Ford Police Interceptor on Friday, according to an internal Ford communication obtained by The News. The car will make its debut to an audience of law enforcement officials at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The new Police Interceptor will replace the Crown Victoria that has been a part of the nation’s law enforcement fleet service since the early 1990s.

It is rumored that the new car will be based on the same platform as the Ford Taurus.

The Crown Victoria will remain in production through Sept. 2011.

Doesn't seem like Ford is putting much effort into design anymore, this looks like a recycled Crown Vic… at least it makes it easier to recognize the headlights in my rearview

The picture is of an old Crown Victoria…. new model comes out Friday

They should just use the Ford of Australia RWD Ford Falcon sedan. A huge leap forward from the current Crown Vic.
