Chevrolet marketing revamp is well under way

According to top execs at Chevrolet, the brand is in the midst of a major marketing revamp. The new campaign will feature the carmakers line of vehicles and the phrase ‘excellence for everyone’, though that will no be the company’s new tagline. “You will really like it,”, said Mark Reuss, president of GM North America, in reference to the new spots which are set to come out within the next two months.

Reuss also indicated that GM will be doing more image building on the backs of the Camaro and Corvette names, as they presently do not do a good enough job of leveraging the iconic names to boost the Chevy label. “When have you ever seen “Vettes and Camaros in ads for Equinox and Malibu?” he wrote. “This will change.”

The Equinox has been wildly successful for GM thus far, offering the right mix of price, space, fuel-economy, and technology. The car is also promoted by sportscaster Howie Long, who is featured in the ad. Reuss also mentioned a much-needed re-energizing of the Malibu.
