Josiah LaColla is an industrial designer from Detroit and has had vehicles displayed at the SEMA show for the past two years. After checking out his resume here, you can tell that LaColla is very talented and very imaginative.

While his imagination was out for a jog, it came back with an idea of the 2011 Ford Taurus SHO Wagon, known by LaColla as a “Sophisticated American Tourer.”

Like it? Hate it? Let us know in the comments section below. Our take? We like it… a lot.

My parents drove a Chevy Malibu station wagon and I believe that Ford Taurus SHO station wagon looks like a dream. I live in an area though that is very hilly and during the winter, all-wheel drive would be a real plus. I wish a car like that existed with over 200 hp and also available with 3 rows of seats for seating for 7 people (and available in hybrid model as well). I hope people with that kind of talent keep on drawing station wagons. The new Ford Focus station wagon looks good from the side but the bottom part of the front end looks odd. If just that one part were changed, it could be a great looking car.

All I have to say is, “come on GM and get your $#!+ together and bring us a wagon.”

This is a nice looking car.

I would buy this car in a heartbeat. I am looking forward to the C-Max, but if I could find an wagon with a third row, I would definitely opt for that. Of course, as an SHO model, it would probably cost twice what the C-Max is rumored to be.

This looks exactly what I had susggested to the dealer when I had gone to look a the new Taurus. After seeing tcaddy's new sports wagon ($60K!!!) I was hoping Ford would look at streching thr roof line, likt they GM did with the CTS. I would've bought the car then!

    C'mon Ford!

I love wagons and would buy this car if they built it.

  • Maro

deinately buy it, Wagons or Estates are extremely popular in Europe

  • Jessica

Love it, that is exactly the car we are looking for, especially if it gets 30 mph highway.

  • Sandy

I love it!! When are American car makers going to figure out that wagon sell? Give us something to compete with the Subarus, for cryin' out loud. Ford should build a wagon in the Taurus, AND the Focus. They'd sell a bazillion of them!

  • ms

yes, yes…make us a cool american small wagon

  • Orion416

please make a station wagon for the USA. they are all over europe. please make the back more square so you can put something in it. this sloped design is pretty but useless for carrying anything. i need to put large dogs in the back; people in the middle and the front. would buy it in a minute.

We have had Ford Taurus wagons since 1966. We were devastated when the powers at Ford decided to stop making this very popular model and throw all their bets on SUVs. We would be thrilled to have the choice of a new Taurus Wagon in the near future. Thanks for showing this page. Marty & Shirley

having this as an option, I wouldn’t have to go car shopping. This is the car I’ve been looking for however no AMERICAN car company will step up and build it. SUV and Crossovers are getting old, plus my shoulders are shop from hoisting bikes and kayaks on top of my SUV.

Love, love, love the look, if priced right and good gas mileage.

Ford is selling a focus wagon in europe but refuses to sell it in the U.S. Ford says that there is no market here for a wagon that gets over 30mpg. Fools.

  • dfgo

love it!!!, so sleek looking, not your mamas wagon anymore

  • Gtgray

It’s fabulous!  Please sell manufacture and sell this car in the USA.  It’s so beautiful and we have just about worn out our Taurus wagon.  We want this car!

  • PK

As Audi is not bringing the new A6 wagon here and MB and BMW stopped selling their wagon, this would make a killing. At some point we don’t need an SUV anymore. A sedan size car with the suv room we would need occasionally is really missing in this market.

My last two cars have been Ford wagons, a Taurus and a Mercury Sable wagon.  I can’t believe they haven’t announced they are going to build one yet.

The only American wagon that I would buy is the Cadillac CTS wagon.  But it’s smaller than my Mercury wagon and costs a whole lot more.  And I refuse to really consider the Cadillac while they’re still Government Motors.

If Ford or Lincoln doesn’t make a Taurus-based wagon, I just may have to buy the BMW Sport Wagon.  It’s more than I want to spend, but less money than the Cadillac.

BTW, wagons are not very popular around Dallas, but I still see tons of them around the Chicago area.  It’s a cheap investment in styling, parts, and manufacturing to please your customer base.

And don’t get me started about Ford killing Mercury…Dumb.
