Toyota recalling 8,000 Tacomas due to problem in front propeller shaft

By now, we’ve lost count of how many vehicles Toyota has recalled (it’s somewhere north of 8.1 million vehicles). According to a Toyota spokesman, the Japanese automaker is also voluntarily recalling approximately 8,000 four-wheel-drive Tacoma pickups to fix a problem in the front propeller shaft.

Toyota says that a crack can develop in the rear joint of the Tacoma leading to the driveshaft separating and falling away from the truck.

The issue was discovered by Dana Corporation during the manufacturing process of the front prop shaft.

The recall affects Tacoma models that were produced from mid-December 2009 to early Feb. 2010.

    I'll bet you if the government didn't force Toyota to recall the cars for the accelerator issues, none of these other recalls would be happening either. Toyota is SCREWED.

    Nice of you to mention the rest of the deal…Ford and Nissan vehicles are also involved. Oh, and it's another US supplier. Best be careful how happy your dance becomes. There are plenty of GM suppliers shared with Toyota too.

    toyota is garbage now quality not good right now, they does'nt care about the quality they care about world biggest car maker.

    Toyota has been hiding problems for years from engine sludge in camrys rusty Tundra frames sticky pedals and now this new Tocoma recall. Also Japan's cash for clunckers dose not allow American made cars in it's program. Send Honda/Toyota home we can build our own cars!

    I heard about the pedal recall, but now a hybrid recall, the honda airbag recall and to think I could have had no idea if it affected my NON toyota car good thing I found more info here http://www.carpedalrecall.com
    searched for my make, model, year and found my car had been recalled so look out! it could save a life maybe yours

    don't understand how serious or what the car pedal recall is about?

    its not only just toyota not spilling the beans this whole front propeller shaft in the new toyotas is not only just happening in toyotas also nissan and ford have got there shafts from the same company and theres been reports of it cracking as well but yet ford and nissan say its not a “saftey” concern… volvo cars catching on fire… range rover having falty drive shafts… hondas exploding air bag… this is the result of a recesion cutting costs and corners i really wish the government cared more about its people and looked into auto makers cars before its to late like always, how many complaints and deaths do there have to b to have the government involved i mean they get money from all these auto makers 2 do what umm lets think well i got nuthin o wow thats wat they do nuthin until theres lives lost…… im done now hope yall enjoy the lil info i provided
