With 5.35 million Toyota vehicles recalled due pedal entrapment issues, we were wondering if any of the egmCarTech visitors own a recently recalled Toyota.

If you’ve been living under a rock for the past couple of weeks and own any of the following vehicles listed below, you may want to contact your local Toyota dealer:

2009-2010 RAV4, 2009-2010 Corolla, 2009-2010 Matrix, 2005-2010 Avalon, Certain 2007-2010 Camry, 2010 Highlander, 2007-2010 Tundra, 2008-2010 Sequoia.

Either way, if you own any recalled Toyota vehicle, let us know how the whole issue is affecting your life, what you’re doing about it and if you have advice for any others facing the same problem.

I own a 2006 Camry. I'm wondering if ours will be recalled next.

Wife owns a Toyota Prius, so we're good – but I'd def like to hear what other people are going through

Supposedly my 2009 Highlander was built in Japan with Japanese parts, not CTS, but I still wonder since the news said this morning that it might also be an electronics problem. The SUV was purchased to put our newborn in….now what do i do? Have no money what-so-ever to get anything else! Maybe I should have just bought American like my other car.

My 2001 Toyota Corolla is too old. I guess that's a good thing, though.

I own an '09 Corolla. No response from the dealer where I purchased it other than to give me the Toyota # that plays a recording or “hit 1 if you need further assistance” and one could be on hold forever because of “the increase in phone calls currently.”
I bought this car for it reliability track record and it's good gas mileage. It's basically a boring car otherwise. Now this safety issue. Plus the scam that Toyota seemed to be perpetrating earlier with the floor mat being the cause of sudden acceleration.
I am seriously looking into the incentives being offered by Ford and GM to the owners of the recalled Toyota models, and to all Toyota owners.

I owned a 2009 Corolla which had 14 month of brake failure. It had an acceleration incident Jan.18th in which the car went 85-95 MPH. I was injured. I got a 2010 Corolla that same day. It has had 2 acceleration incidents on Feb 12th & Feb 15th ( I was injured that day).
The dealership put put in the new recall pedal on Feb 12th, so you can see that the car accelerated the 3rd time with the new recall pedal in. Since then, the car has continued to have problems. It now has complete brakle failure issues, the brake pedal goes to the floor, and the car still is exhibiting acceleration issues. The dealership states “The car drives like all other Corollas. It is fine. Also it is normal for Corollas to accelerate to 80 MPH.
