2010 Suzuki Kizashi gets 5-star crash test rating from NHTSA

Suzuki announced that its new 2010 Suzuki Kizashi, the company’s first entry into the all-wheel-drive sedan segment, earned the highest possible rating by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) crash tests. The 2010 Kizashi was awarded a 5-star rating in both the frontal and side-impact crash tests for all seating positions.

“The all-new Kizashi includes a class-leading list of standard safety equipment, including class-exclusive standard eight airbags and a tire pressure monitoring system,” Suzuki said in a statement. “Additionally, the 2010 Kizashi already meets some of the crash standards put in place for the year 2014, including rigorous side pole crash, side barrier crash, and European pedestrian protection standards.”

Prices for the well-equipped entry-level 2010 Kizashi S start at $18,999 for the FWD model and $21,749  for the AWD model ($19,734 and $22,484 including destination and handling charges). The 2010 Kizashi SE model starts at $21,499 and $22,749. The sporty 2010 Kizashi GTS model, available with a 6-speed manual or a CVT with paddle shifters starts at $22,499.
