2010 Nissan Murano

According to Inside Line, plans for a convertible Nissan Murano are still alive. An unnamed Nissan source at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show told the publication that the Nissan Murano convertible should go on sale later this year – just in time for the summer.

The model will feature a folding soft-top roof and will be produced in limited numbers.

Power is expected to come from the 3.5L V6 making 265-hp with front and all-wheel-drive.

Personally, I LOVE it! I live at 11,000 feet in the central mountains of Colorado, 2 miles from the nearest paved road. But I also love convertibles. Jeeps are not practical as a “nice” vehicle at my house, as I have no garage, and the dirt roads and animals mean that you can't really leave a vehicle open–especially at night (unless you like cleaning up raccoon poop in the morning).

I have long wanted a “push button” type convertible (one that doesn't take 30 minutes to put on or take off…..) or at least one with an easy fold back type roof that can still make it through 2 feet of snow in the winter. I'm not sure how capable the Murano is, but I have seen neighbors with them, so I would think they will work in my area.

Of course, I probably can't afford one (especially in “limited release”….), but if I were to win the lottery, I would be VERY interested in learning more about the Murano Convertible.

By the way–I actually LIKE the way it looks…….
