We’ve been previously told that after the BMW ActiveHybrid 7 and the ActiveHybrid X6, the new-generation 5-Series will be the next to go ActiveHybrid. According to BMWBlog, the German automaker plans on showing a BMW ActiveHybrid concept version of the 5-Series at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.

Unlike the ActiveHybrid 7 and the ActiveHybrid X6, the BMW 5-Series ActiveHybrid will drop the V8 engine for a smaller inline-6 cylinder producing 218-hp mated to an electric-motor making 40-hp.

Expect the concept to show up in the same baby blue hue as the other ActiveHybrid models by BMW.

A production version of the ActiveHybrid 5 is due out late next year.
