Pat Schiavone

FoMoCo’s truck design chief Pat Schiavone, is leaving the industry, confirmed company Spokeswoman Marcey Evans. Schiavone’s resignation is set to be effective January 4, 2010. Website PickupTrucks.com has cited sources familiar with the move as saying that Schiavone will be joining the ranks of Whirlpool Corp.

Schiavone has worked for Ford for 21 years, serving as director of truck design for the past several of those. He has played a prolific part in creating the past three generations of the F-150 pickup and has been credited with designing the 1994 Mustang.
