Tesla Roadster Road Trip

To prove that its Tesla Roadster Sport is tough and can handle any road conditions or road trips, 16 Tesla employees will set out on a 2,700+ mile journey from Los Angeles to Detroit. The group will embark on their long road-trip on Dec. 17.

“We”re driving Roadster #750 from Los Angeles to Detroit for this year”s North American International Auto Show to prove that the Roadster is tough, durable and range anxiety is for the weak,” Tesla said.

The 2010 Detroit Auto Show press days don’t kick off until January 11 – so yes, if you’re one of the many thinking that a 2,700 drive takes 23 days, it doesn’t. The group of drivers will be stopping in over 20 major cities along the way to show off their electric Roadster.

The Tesla Roadster sport is capable of going from 0-60 mph in 3.7 seconds and has the ability to travel 244 miles on a single charge.

    Its range is 244 miles.
It has to travel 2700 miles.
That's 11 stops by my math.
How long does it take to get a FULL RECHARGE to get that 244 miles on each of those 11 stops?

Seems like those promotional stops will be very beneficial for “range anxiety.”
