Speaking at the Peterson Institute for International Economics in Washington, Chrysler Group LLC and Fiat SpA CEO Sergio Marchionne admitted that he is only human and not the superman we all thought he was. Marchionne said that within the next 24 months, he won’t be CEO of both companies, but did not specify from which company he would drop the title.
Apparently flying between continents, working seven-days a week and overseeing two automakers and a farm-equipment business is really taking a toll on his four hours of daily sleep.
“This cannot go on forever,” Marchionne said. “Certainly within the next 24 months, we’ll find a more permanent solution, either there or here. I’m not threatening the Italian side with a departure from Italy, but we need to find a solution.”
According to Free Press, Marchionne may find a deputy at Chrysler to oversee his ambitious 5-year business plan.
