At the 2009 LA Auto Show tomorrow, GM has promised to announce plans for initial retail markets for the 2011 Chevrolet Volt. According to a report by Automotive News, the details won’t outline a national launch plan.

Chevrolet division President Brent Dewar said during a panel discussion in LA yesterday that GM is looking at a number of factors to determine which areas get the Volt first.

“We’re looking at infrastructure, tax credits,” he said. “We want this to be a very positive experience. Then we will go to a national rollout.”

It’s almost certain that California will be one of the first states to get the Volt, but Dewar would not confirm that. Dewar also did not confirm how many Volts GM expects to sell annually.

Will the next excuse for why The Vapor will be late be that Fritz's replacement needed time to get up to speed?

Goodbye, Fritz. You never had a chance and now you will become the new scapegoat.

Oh my gosh! you are kidding me GM! Will the next announcement be that these Volts will be 'leased only' for selected consumers in selected markets … just like the EV1 in the early 90s.
