According to a report by AutoCar, Audi is currently planning a successor to the A2.
“As we gave the A1 that nomenclature there’s clearly room for another product and another concept between the A3,” CEO Rupert Stadler told the publication in an interview. ”If you don’t have to explain a car like the A2 then it works.”
Stadler didn’t give any details on where exactly the A2 would stand in the brand’s lineup but admitted that it would be an obvious proposition for the company. He killed rumors suggesting that Audi will get a vehicle based on the Volkswagen Up! Concept.
Insiders say that the A2 will likely be an E2 – an electric car based on the A1.
