Nothing amazing in this new car. I like the led of headlights it looks pretty good, but the car I think can create better design because A8 must be huge grand for business man

I expected something totally different and this, like many others have noted, is just a big A4. The only difference from the A4 are those 7-series-similar creases pinching the sides. The interior has progressed very minimally.

I feel disappointed in the design overall. I look forward to the new Jaguar as a fashion accessory. The S-Class, or the standard, has nothing to worry about.

These cars always end up growing on me after I see them in person, mostly because they are really restrained designs, in a world of over execution. Mercedes sheet metal has been crucified for years now, and we all know about BMW… if you're looking for a classically executed design that won't embarrass, Audi is for you. Recently saw the new XJ and have to say it was VERY icy. A little too icy. Would have liked to see a little more verve from Audi's upper end, a touch of risk. Hoping the subtlety of line will convey in person…

They did a wonderful job.
It doesn't have side vents that BMW put on the 7 series after Ford put them on the Focus.
It doesn't have rectangular tailpipes that were first seen on the Lexus LS, then the MB S-Class, and have finally made their way to the Buick LaCrosse.
The interior is not as clean as the Mercedes which moved the shifter back to the steering wheel column but it's far nicer than the LS and 7-Series which look like the took the shifter knobs off their less expensive models. Lexus is still using the notched track design for God's sake!
If you read the above article you'd see that the shifter mimics the design of a throttle control on a yacht so if you're not a big boater and are more into playing with shifter similar to the joystick on an Atari, this car is not for you.
Even the new cruise control looks pretty cool.
Way to go Audi.

Audi never appeals to me aesthetically. Their cars just have no emotion to them, just cold and passionate.

by far the worst/ugliest audi i have EVER seen. it looks like its ugly stick got beaten with an even uglier stick. and by the way what is that shifter? ive gotten used to the odd bmw shifter but that is ridiculous.

Bland and boring. I guess they have to go conservative just like Mercedes, BMW and Lexus. It has to look 'timeless.'
