Romania upset about Clarkson comments on gypsies and communism

Here is our obligatory monthly article on how Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson has provoked outrage with his sarcastic and witty comments. The Romanian government has asked BBC to remove “offensive” remarks made about the country in season premier of series 14.
If you happened to catch the episode on BBC, Clarkson and his co-presenters, Richard Hammond and James May, visited Romania and called it the “Borat country.”
For a part of the segment, Clarkson rode around in a Aston Martin DBS Volante with a pork pie-style hat and said: ‘‘I’m wearing this hat so the gypsies think I am one. I’m told they can be violent if they don’t like the look of you.”
Dr Ion Jinag, Romanian ambassador in London, was “surprised and disappointed” by the references to Borat and gypsies. The Romanian embassy said that they “anticipate a positive response to our request for changes.”
