2010 Hyundai Genesis sedan gets an extra 10 horses

While Hyundai is concentrating on adding new engine choices to its vehicles with the new 2.4L Theta II, it is not leaving its current engines untouched.
For 2010, the 4.6L Tau V8 in the Hyundai Genesis sedan gets an increase of 10-hp for a total of 385-hp with a maximum torque of 333 lb-ft.
The extra power comes courtesy of a 2-step VIS (Variable Induction) System that provides additional air flow for more power. Hyundai also added D-CVVT (Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing) for an optimized intake and exhaust valve timing.
Hyundai Technical Center powertrain director John Juriga says that performance stats will remain the same, but drivers will definitely be able to feel the extra boost. The 2010 Hyundai Genesis sedan with the upgraded V8 will hit dealerships later this year.
