Next Chevrolet Impala will be larger, will get hybrid model

Don’t get your hopes up for a civilian version of the Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle. According to Bob Lutz, General Motors has no plans on dropping the Impala, which will be upgraded sometime later next year.
He said that the next Chevrolet Impala will be a front-wheel-drive sedan and will be slightly larger with more equipment. He said that the model will maintain good fuel-efficiency in order to compete with sedans like the 2010 Ford Taurus.
Lutz also said that the next Impala will be compatible with GM’s new hybrid drivetrain, so we can expect a hybrid version some point after the gasoline versions are launched.
