Mercedes-Benz CLC

According to a report by AutoCar, Mercedes-Benz is planning to replace the CLC with true coupe version of the C-Class by 2011. The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe will also replace the CLK, which was discontinued earlier this year after 12 years.

“We went back and studied what made our coupes so popular in the past. If you look at some of the more successful two door models Mercedes-Benz has produced you can see a direct relationship between them and their four door stable mates,” an inside source said.

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe will have a short life-span when it makes its debut. Engineering on the fourth-generation C-Class is well underway so that means the coupe model will only be sold for four years before it is replaced by a more curvaceous model.

There are no plans to offer a convertible model the source said.
