2010 Nissan Leaf

The Nissan Leaf has made it on to TIME Magazine’s list of 50 Best Innovations of 2009. TIME said:

It’s not the world’s first electric car, but the Nissan Leaf, launched in August, is the first fully electric vehicle built for mass production for the global market. To help drivers shift their thinking from gas to green, Japan’s third largest automaker has about 30 partnerships worldwide focused on developing an infrastructure of battery-recharging stations to keep electric vehicles on the roads.

We’ll be posting our first drive feature on the Leaf later today – stay tuned.

Refresher: Power comes from a 107-hp electric-motor that runs on power supplied by lithium ion cells. On a full-charge, the Nissan LEAF allows for a driving range of 100 miles with a top speed of 87 mph. A full charge takes up to 8 hours on a standard 200V outlet. Buyers can opt for the DC 50kW quick-charger, which recharges the battery up to 80 percent in under 30 minutes.

    Take that, Chevrolet Vapor!!!!!!!

You cannot be on the list because you don't exist (except in the feeble minds of the delusional GM management). Isn't about time for a news report from GM as to why the Vapor will not make its production time line?

LEAP (frog) - ahead of the rest.
