Volkswagen releases sketch of new mid-size sedan for the U.S.

Volkswagen of America today released a sketch of its forthcoming new mid-size sedan, which will be produced at the company’s new plant in Chattanooga, TN. The sedan will be introduced to the market in late 2011. Volkswagen has yet to release the official name of the sedan, which will replace the Passat in the United States.
CEO of Volkswagen Group of America, Stefan Jacoby, said that Volkswagen expects to sell about 100,000 units of the sedan annually. Volkswagen also has plans to export the new U.S. built sedan.
