BMW has ruled out doing an M version of the 5-Series Gran Turismo, reports AutoCar. A source told the publications that the twin-turbo V8 550i Gran Turismo will be the range-topping model in the lineup.
The BMW 5-Series Gran Turismo is set to replace the slow selling 5-Series station wagon in the United States. The 5-Series station wagon will continue to sell in Europe along with its M high-performance variant.
A separate report by AutoCar says that BMW is considering a more affordable version of the 5-Series Gran Turismo. The model will use the 175-hp 4-cylinder unit found in the 320d.
