Tesla Roadster, Toyota Prius, VW Touareg crash

An Autopia reader spotted this accident involving a Tesla Roadster, Volkswagen Touareg and the Toyota Prius. The accident took place earlier this week and as the story goes the Tesla was stopped behind the Touareg at a red light when a Prius rear-ended it and pushed it under the SUV.

According Tesla’s spokeswoman Rachel Konrad:

This was a customer car but the customer was not driving or in the car at the time. The driver stopped at a red light behind a truck and was hit from behind by a VW Touareg driving at 80km/hour at the time of impact. The Roadster driver walked away with minor bruises.

No word on others involved in the accident but we hope everyone is okay and made it out safe.

That spokesperson needs to get her story straight to match the picture. There's no way the Touareg hit the Telsa and ended up on top of the Telsa. The Prius hit the Telsa! Duh!

Why is the photographer not credited? Why is there no link back to his 'skagman' Flickr site? Why have you ignored his copyright? John Nuttall (the photographer!)

This took place in Jutland, Denmark. Apparently the owner of the Tesla Roadster is an employee of Maersk, the biggest company in Denmark. The owner already owned a Tesla Roadster, and this was his second one, it was quite new.

According to EB.dk, a danish version of the sun (horrible), everyone is OK.

Maybe it is late while I am reading this but the story and the Tesla spokesperson don't add up. But anyway it is still horrific.
