Tokyo 2009: BMW Alpina B7 Bi-Turbo

At the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, Alpina unveiled its new 2009 B7 B-Turbo BMW 7-Series. Today, at the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show, Alpina introduced a new, long wheelbase version of the new Alpina B7 Bi-Turbo.

A 4.4L V8 gives the BMW Alpina B7 Bi-Turbo a total of 507-hp with a peak torque of 516 lb-ft. It allows for a 0 to 62 mph time of 4.7 seconds with a top speed that is electronically-limited to 174 mph. Power is transferred to the wheels through ZF 6-speed automatic, which also uses Alpina”s Switch-Tronic system to adapt to the driving conditions.

Alpina also announced that the company’s 3,000th vehicle is on its way to Tokyo and will be delivered exactly 30 years after its first Japanese delivery. To date, Alpina has sold over 300 7-series in Tokyo.
