
At the 2009 Tokyo Motor Show later this month, Subaru will unveil its new Hybrid Tourer Concept. According to the guys over at AutoExpress, Subaru has plans of developing a new coupe based on the concept as a spiritual successor of the SVX, which arrived in 1991 as a competitor to the BMW M3.
Power will most likely come from a 2.5L turbocharged boxer engine. A source said that the car will be priced around £40,000 ($59,373 USD).
The SVX replacement will come in addition to the new $20,000 coupe, a sibling to the Toyota FT-86. That model will be powered by a 200-hp 2.0L boxer engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.
