no i dont believe in that bs. a huge portion of my friends are into cars. and whatnot. to those that are even mutely intrested, they atleast know the basics of which car is what and what its stats are. there might be other kids that dont seem intrested, but me, in my 20+ years old friends are interested in cars. if anything, the interest lies also in top of the range cars, like ferrari and lamborghini.

It is a sad day for auto enthusiasts when "Early Careerists" aspire to Lexus - the Cadillac of the baby boomers.

Also, to not "physically congregate", as the report cites as a reason for not needing a car worries me. Getting out of the house and one' comfort zone is beneficial to physical and mental health.

i can see this to a certain degree in my circle of friends...however, i don't have a shortage of enthusiasts in the Y generation either. I don't think it's as drastic as they paint it to be. it seems to me like more of a parting of interests. either they really enjoy cars or they don't care at all. for them there's no longer a need to know anything about your car other than you stick the key in the ignition and hit the gas to go. so, i'd attribute it to the advancement of the automobile more than anything else

I am not surprised here. Kids now have more fun toys to keep them busy (iPods, cellphones, internet ect). Young men of my generation (40+) and older has nothing but to tinker with cars.
