Californians are just like any other consumer but consider environmentalism as well as horsepower, comfort, style, etc. when purchasing their cars. I'm not sure how Ford sold any of their previous generation Tauruses but the current iteration is stunning. It also garners great reviews, has gotten decent acclaim for its quality, and is fuel efficient. I'm not sure why anybody is surprised either.
