As reported last month, Chrysler Group LLC confirmed today that it is splitting its Dodge brand into two different brands – the Dodge Ram Brand and the Dodge Car Brand.

“The brand-focused strategy has been refined further with the unbundling of the Dodge Brand which now consists of the Dodge Ram Brand and the Dodge Car Brand organizations.” said Sergio Marchionne, Chief Executive Officer, Chrysler Group LLC. “This reorganization will allow us to protect and develop the unique nature of the product offerings within the Dodge Brand.”

Fred Diaz Jr. has been appointed President and CEO of the Dodge Ram Brand. He will also be the lead executive for the Sales organization in the United States.

Ralph Gilles will now be President and CEO of the Dodge Car Brand and will also be the lead executive for the Marketing organization with responsibility to coordinate worldwide marketing strategies, brand development and advertising for the Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge Car and Dodge Ram brands.

Olivier Francois will be President and CEO of the Chrysler brand and Michael Manley will continue on as President and CEO of the Jeep brand.

Peter Fong, head of the Chrysler brand, resigned for personal reasons along with Michael Accavitti, head of the Dodge brand, who resigned to pursue other interests.
